20 Reasons in 20 Minutes

My online compadre over at Beetle Blogger has posted an awesome discourse on why Marriage is Between a Man and a Woman.  Note that I did not write “Why it should be” or “Why I believe in” but rather “Why it is.”

Allow me to share just two micro-bits from Beetle’s post.

1 – To sustain THE POPULATION – To sustain the population we need a birth rate of 2.1 children per woman. Countries that have legalized gay marriage have some of the lowest fertility rates in the world. The Netherlands , Sweden and Canada all have birthrates around 1.6 children per woman, and are losing population.

2 – Children Need Stable Home Environments -  Homosexuals and lesbians are poor role models for children because of their lifestyle: Transient relationships: While a high percentage of married couples remain married for up to 20 years or longer, with many remaining wedded for life, the vast majority of homosexual relationships are short-lived and transitory. A study in the Netherlands, a country that has legalized gay marriage, found the average duration of a homosexual relationship to be 1.5 years. Serial promiscuity: Studies indicate that while three-quarters or more of married couples remain faithful to each other, homosexual couples typically engage in a shocking degree of promiscuity. The same Dutch study found that “committed” homosexual couples have an average of eight sexual partners (outside of the relationship) per year.
