Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California

As of 9:30 AM, November 5th, 2008, the results for Prop 8 are:

5,220, 694 Californians (52.2%) voted to approve Prop 8 – only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.  96.4% of precincts have reported in.

Thank you to the tens of thousands of volunteers who blogged, walked, knocked, called, waved signs and stood up for our own freedoms.

  2. I find it interesting that the very people who demand tolerance and acceptance are dishing out intolerance and condemnation. That’s not the way to make friends in communities they seek acceptance from.

    On the other hand, look at the beauty of all the faiths coming together. Even though the LDS church is being singled out, the other faiths are standing with us and defending.

    Los Angeles interfaith leaders voiced their support for the LDS church this afternoon, saying: “The peaceful faiths, families, educators, activists, and community servants who make up the protect Marriage Coalition are saddened to hear of the continued targeted attacks on the Mormon people during and after the conclusion of this fair and certified election. Like many churches, the family is the anchor of the LDS faith and it is no surprise that its members in California joined other faiths in giving everything they had to Proposition 8.“

    You are referring to the LDS Church when you say “the very people”? Because Proposition 8 was an act of intolerance and condemnation, and the LDS Church now seems to be spending a lot of time whining about how it’s not fair, they just wanted to be friends
